Tournament Games

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have an CSGO tournament that will span both days and will feature the following:

  • 5v5, team-based
  • Bring-your-own-computer
  • Tournament held on both days, with the finals on Day 2, November 3rd
Competitive Structure

Each tournament round will use the standard competitive ruleset with two different round structures:

  • The group stage will use a round robin format
  • Top 8 teams play in single elimination, best of 3 playoffs

Prizing

Prizing will be determined at the event by number of ticket-price entrants into each game’s prize pool.

Each entrant’s $5 entry fee (not including venue fee) goes towards the prize pool. In addition, the prize pool has a base amount that can increase depending on the number of entrants:

  • Base prize pool: $125
  • Increased to $250 if there are 5+ teams competing

2nd(30% + $37.50)

  • 30% of prize pool plus $37.50

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have an League of Legends tournament that will span both days and will feature the following:

  • 5v5, team-based
  • Bring-your-own-computer
  • Tournament played on Days 1 and 2 (November 2nd and 3rd, respectively), schedule permitting
    • Finals will occur on the second day
Competitive Structure

The tournament format will consist of Swiss-style on Saturday followed by Single Elimination playoffs on Sunday:

  • Map: Summoner’s Rift
  • Team Size: 5
  • Allow Spectators: Lobby Only
  • Game Type: Tournament Draft

Prizing

Prizing will be determined at the event by number of ticket-price entrants into each game’s prize pool.

Each entrant’s $5 entry fee (not including venue fee) goes towards the prize pool. In addition, the prize pool has a base amount that can increase depending on the number of entrants:

  • Base prize pool: $125
  • Increased to $250 if there are 5+ teams competing

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have a Hearthstone tournament that is scheduled to occur only on the first day, November 2nd, though overflow onto the second day may occur if more time is needed. The tournament details are as follows:

  • 1v1, with teams of up to 3 allowed
  • Bring-your-own-device
  • PCs, mobile, or tablets allowed
  • Tournament held on first day, November 2nd
Competitive Structure

The tournament will use the Conquest format in which each round is a best of five:

  • 4 standard format decks required
  • 1 ban

Prizing

Prizing will be determined at the event by number of ticket-price entrants into each game’s prize pool.

Each entrant’s $5 entry fee (not including venue fee) goes towards the prize pool. In addition, the prize pool has a base amount that can increase depending on the number of entrants:

  • Base prize pool: $50
  • Increased to $100 if there are 5+ teams competing

  • Bring-your-own-computer
  • Tournament held on both days, with the finals on Day 2, November 3rd

Each tournament round will use the standard Overwatch competitive ruleset with 2/2/2 lock enabled.

Only heroes and maps currently available in competitive play will be allowed.

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have a Rocket League tournament that is scheduled to occur only on the second day, November 3rd. The tournament details are as follows:

  • 3v3, team-based
  • Bring-your-own-computer
  • Tournament held on second day, November 3rd
Competitive Structure

Each tournament round will use the standard 3v3 game mode, and the overall tournament is as follows:

  • The first phase will be Swiss, which we’ll use as seeding for a knockout single-elimination bracket.
  • The Swiss matches will be best-of-3, and all bracket matches (except the finals match) will be best-of-3. The bracket finals will be best-of-5

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have a Dota 2 tournament that is scheduled to occur only on the first day, November 2nd, though overflow onto the second day may occur if more time is needed. The tournament details are as follows:

  • 5v5, team-based
  • Bring-your-own-computer
  • Tournament held on first day, November 2nd
Competitive Structure

Each tournament round will use the Captain’s mode format and will have an overall format consisting of group stage and playoff sections:

  • Phase 1: Team average solo MMRs will be recorded and two groups will be divided. The top four overall teams will proceed to the playoffs
  • Phase 2: Semifinals will be played between the finalists of each group and the runner-up of the other group
Placement
  • First and second place will be determined by a best-of-three grand finals
  • Third place will be decided by the winner of a best-of-three decider series

Tournament Overview

Gamefest 2019 will have a variety of different fighting game tournaments, with Melee/Ultimate tournaments occurring on the second day, November 3rd and all other fighting game tournaments occurring on the first day, November 2nd

If you bring a setup for any of our fighting games tournaments, we will waive your ticket price. We need help making the tournaments possible and community setups help us accomplish that. If you have already paid, let us know when check in or feel free to DM a tournament organizer and we can refund your ticket price.
